An art show opening

A huge crush, as usual with these large juried shows. We played 'Where's Waldo?' to find my piece. I talked to several friends and we congratulated each other on our good fortune to have been included in the show.

Local Voice

Today is the Opening of this show at the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek.
I'll let you know how my piece looks.

Here are some PR shots. I'll bring my camera.

A show at the Palace of the Legion of Honor

I made a trip to the city today to see a new exhibit, a show by four Women Impressionists. A wonderful, groundbreaking show.
The 4 artists are: Berthe Morisot, Mary Cassat, Eva Gonzales and Marie Bracqemond.
Here is a link to the museum's website:
There are images and much information about the lives of these talented and remarkable women, who in their lifetime did not get the recognition they deserved.
This is the only museum in the United States which is showing this exhibit.

A Sunday meeting

I had a great meeting with Tesia, my marketing coach. She vetted my resume, artist's statement and bio for the umpteenth time. It's going to be very effective, a tool to my goal of earning good money and/or become famous. We also made a decision to pursue a two-fold path:
I'll be Ruth Kolman Brophy for my figurative work. My alter ego, RKBrophy is the abstract artist. What fun!!!
Until the next meeting, on July 1, I will design a postcard for one of these personas.

Now I'm off to printmaking class.

working artist

This is a blog about process: The process of creating art and also the process of marketing it.
I am enrolled in THE PRACTICUM, an art marketing program developed by Tesia Blackburn.

I will report here on what I am learning. If I do everything right, I will be successful. i.e. selling my work.

Maybe even be famous!

Watch what happens!
